Short Term Research Programme 2019 (For Students)

Applications are invited from interested M.Sc. students for short term research programme with fellowship for two months, starting from November 2019, at Inter University Centre for Nanomaterials and Devices, Cochin University of Science and Technology. Students will be permitted to complete their project at IUCND even after the fellowship period.

Interested participants are requested to register online and to upload a one page proposal on which you want to work, before October 5th, 2019.

Interested teachers are requested to register online and to upload a research proposal on which you want to work, before October 5th, 2019.

The International Conference on Optoelectronic and Nano Materials for Advanced Technology (icONMAT 2019) will be held during January 3-5, 2019. This conference is 3rd in the series. Originally the conference known as OMTAT (Optoelectronic materials and thin films for advanced Technology). The first OMTAT2005 and the second OMTAT 2013 were held at Rivera Suites, Kochi http://omtat.cusat.ac.in, India. The aim of the symposium is to enhance mutual cooperation and collaboration among academia and industries in the field of nanomaterials and devices. The conference will provide a platform to present state of art methods in the synthesis of materials, design of nanostructures, heterostructure, and thin films for the targeted applications. These fascinating high performance materials are being used in a variety of applications such as gas sensor, photocatalysis, fuel cells, solar cells, optics, transparent electronics, high definition displays etc. This conference will address how the performances of materials for specific application are influenced by process, architecture, size, shape etc. The conference aims at bringing together scientists and engineers working on various aspects of fabrication, characterisation and modeling of optoelectronic materials and devices to discuss the latest developments in this field. The conference will be an ideal platform to share and exchange ideas on the latest development in the areas of advanced materials and processing for futuristic optoelectronic applications.

INNVENT – 2017

Nanomaterials and technologies evolved through them revolutionize our lives by providing technological solutions to several unresolved problems in agriculture, energy, health care - nanomedicine and nanodevices, food-packaging / preservation, electronics, aerospace, imaging and infrastructure. Further, nanoscience expands its horizon and intersect with several basic sciences to establish smart functional interfaces with unique properties such as ultra-high surface area, quantum confinement and biofunctional interactions with living systems. Complete realization of its potential as nanodevices and nano-medicine necessitates proper design approaches and characterization. This workshop ‘Innovations in Nanoworld- Neoteric Vision and Emerging NanoTechnologies (INNVENT)-2017’ Organized by IUCND and ECS Student Chapter, Cochin University of Science and Technology during December 13-15, 2017 aims to bring together scholars and fellows who are actively involved in both basic and applied nanoscience and technology research to bring awareness about the scientific advances of nanomaterials with special reference to Fuel Cells, Energy Storage devices, Nanomedicine-Mechanisms and Barriers, Supramolecular chemistry, etc. In addition the workshop offer opportunity to researchers to get enriched with fundamental and advanced characterization techniques associated with nanomaterials for various emerging applications.
